In the hopes of seeing snow and getting away on a short vacation for the first time in a long while, we made the trek to New Mexico for Thanksgiving. In all, it took 11 hours to get there by the time we stopped to take breaks, eat and change diapers. Hattie was a trooper and did really great! She either slept, played with her toys or watched her dad entertain her. She loved us singing to her if she got a little fussy even if it wasn't in tune.
We had lots of fun and enjoyed the break from reality. No cell service! We played dominoes, Uno, took a walk in the snow, played old Texas trivia (pre-1984, boo!) and relaxed. Dinner was delicious as well.
The only hiccup in the trip was a text from our neighbor saying our smoke alarms were going off. We did not know this until we started traveling home and got service back on our phones.
Overall, we had a great time and, thankfully, Hattie is a fantastic traveler. Lily always loves visiting the cabin and running wild in the woods. She even convinced Wally to play like a puppy just a little. Thanks to Don for letting us crash for a few days!
