Today, Hattie is 4 months old. Today also happens to be the day I would have had to start back to work. (Officially, it would have been last Monday because of a glitch in my hire date last year, but inservice week begins today for all teachers.) So, instead of back to school ice breakers (gag) and boring workshops I get to play with my baby. Life is good.
This morning Hattie got up around 7:30am. She went to sleep around 9:15pm last night. That's over 10 hours of sleep people! She ate breakfast and watched a bit of Team Umizoomi while Shane got ready for work. Once he left, we went outside to play since the weather was an amazing 66 degrees. We spread out a blanket, took a few toys and the three of us, Lily included, headed out to the backyard. Hattie loves the outdoors and enjoyed this new adventure. Lily loved having the family outside with her and even came over to give Hattie a lick before she continued her prance up and down the fence line. What a great start to a birthday!
After lots of playing, eating and napping, it was bath time for Hattie and then 4 month pictures. She seems to have gotten really long this past month and has gained at least another pound. I can't wait to get her official measurements at the next doctor's appointment this week.
At 4 months old she:
- is on a pretty regular sleep schedule; 3-4 naps during the day and a 9:00pm bedtime
- sleeps 8-10 hours at night
- loves to nap during the day, especially in her swing
- still enjoys her baths and will grab a small bath toy
- loves to look out windows
- will laugh and giggle mostly at reflections and windows
- can grab a toy while on her tummy and bring it to her mouth
- has enjoyed her Jumperoo even if she can't touch the floor yet without a pillow
- is wearing 6 month clothes
- loves to "talk" which mostly consists of grunting, whooing, and squealing
- has still never spit up
- is eating like a champ
- has started blowing spit bubbles and drools a lot
- loves the music on the Classical Music for Babies cd her dad bought for her - it can put her to sleep or calm her if she's upset
- rarely cries and is ok to just chill with the family
We love you sweet baby!
(She was very tired during the picture taking and went to bed almost immediately after so she looks a little sleepy in them. I had just barely jumped out of the shower and was about to do my hair when Shane came in and said she was fading fast so we needed to snap some pictures, quick!)
